TO THE HONORABLE GOVERNOR, RON DESANTIS

Pursuant to the Florida Constitution, and the Florida Elections Code, we the undersigned registered and qualified voters of Lee County, respectfully state that we seek the recall and removal of Chris Patricca from the office of Member of the School District Board of Education in Lee County, Florida. The Governor shall appoint a successor.

The grounds for the petition for recall are as follows:

Chris Patricca uses her official position as Lee County School Board Member and Florida School Boards Association President to secure special privileges and/or benefits.

Violation of Florida School Boards Association Bylaws, po4140(C)(4) -Conflicts of Interest-

Chris Patricca acted in conjunction with Andrea Messina, Executive Director, Florida School Boards Association, to attempt to manipulate the hiring process for the permanent superintendent position with the School District of Lee County.

SBLC Policy for School Board Member Code of Ethics and Boardsmanship, 1.05(5)(b)

Malfeasance due to persistent repeated violations of Ethical Conduct, by her continued attempts to sabotage current Interim Superintendent, Dr. Kenneth Savage.

Misfeasance of office

Chris Patricca speaks publicly on behalf of the board, although she’s not board chair or vice-chair, going so far as to display the School District of Lee County logo behind her as she endorsed underage drinking and made racially charged remarks about the Guatemalan-American community.

Malfeasance of office

Chris Patricca continually urges the board to “vote by consensus” during workshop meetings, knowing they lack the opportunity for public input.

Chris Patricca’s actions serve to make the governance Board as a whole dysfunctional,as she single-handedly disrupts the functioning of the School District of Lee County all to have control.
